Journeyman

If you choose to work on level 2, you should complete level 1 first.

The events in the early colonies and the religious excitement of the time, set up the circumstances that brought about the Restoration of the Gospel. As part of The Restoration the priesthood was restored. A short time later came organizations for women, young women, and children. As you watch these short videos and read the articles, notice the significance of gender and the cooperative relationships they had and have.

Young Women

Here are some videos and articles to get you started in learning about the history of the Relief Society and Young Women organizations.

Relief Society: 

• "Daughters in My Kingdom": The History and Work of Relief Society "Young girls and young women in the Church learn to set goals through the Faith in God and Personal Progress programs, which focus them toward the temple and their future responsibilities. In Relief Society they continue to progress toward the blessings of the temple and eternal life by increasing their faith and personal righteousness, strengthening their families and homes, and seeking out and helping those who are in need."

2. Work on at least one thing under Divine Nature or Individual Worth. 

• What have you learned from this history?
• What personal experiences have you had with personal progress? 
• How does Heavenly Father feels about His daughters?
• What does He wants you to do? 

Young Men

1. The questions below are to get you thinking. They can be answered or independently record what you have learned and your feelings.
2. Work on at least one thing from Duty to God OR find out who is in your direct line of authority.  

• What have you learned from this history?
• How has the priesthood blessed your life? 
• How does having the priesthood restored to the earth show Heavenly Father love for His children in the past, now, in the future, and throughout eternity?
• What does He wants you to do with these blessings? 

Young Women and Young Men

Master

If you choose to work on level 3, please complete levels 1 and 2 first.

Choose 1 or more of the following to do, and come prepared to share facts, stories, pictures, foods, etc.:

1. Choose at least one ancestor and find out more about them: When did they come to America? Why did they come?  Where did they settle? Learn more about that lactation during that time, to get an idea of what their lives and events at the time where like -really get to know them. 
2. Find a family name to take to the temple. 
3. Research and learn about the temple work being done for the founding fathers and other eminent men of the Untied States by Wilford Woodruff and J.D.T. McAllister. 
4. Choose at least one of these individuals and learn more about them or their mother or wife.
